Katrina Opposite Akshay in Tees Maar Khan

For the past few weeks, the speculations on the leading lady’s name of Akshay Kumar’s ‘Tees Maar Khan’ (produced and directed by Farah Khan) were doing the rounds. We heard Sonam and Deepika’s names attached to the project, also reported that Farah was looking for a new comer, anyhow, the hunt for the heroine is ended, we hear. And the heroine is none other than, Akshay’s lucky mascot, Katrina, with whom Akshay has given maximum number of hits; the last one was ‘De dana dan’, released couple of weeks ago. Akshay – Katrina was pair have always been successful at the box office and they are considered to be lucky for each other.

“Tees Maar Khan” has been in the news for its casting, first it was Akshay’s name, that raised few eye brows, because, Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan were such a close buddies, so it was natural for everyone to suspect a possible fallout between Shahrukh and Farah, then it was Akshay Khanna’s turn to join the cast, all this while, the heroines name was kept under wraps, even, few female models mobbed Akshay at a fashion show, after the news spread out that Akshay was looking for a new comer.

Abhishek and Katrina Get Ready to Set the Screen on Fire

Being a celebrity implicates comparisons with your contemporaries. Bollywood’s reigning queen Aishwarya Rai is no different. At one point of time she was ranked as the most desirable of actresses in the film industry.

Aishwarya was the reigning queen and was considered an enchantress both owing to her impeccable looks and her abundant on-screen talent. However, lately, Katrina Kaif is being written about more than Aishwarya which makes her the latter’s strong competitor.

Katrina’s recent release ‘Tees Maar Khan’ opened big doing over Rs 40 crore of business in its opening weekend. Katrina, though, did a commendable job in ‘Rajneeti’, the viewers’ obsession with the ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ number was a tad too much. Katrina has lost weight and cast off her clothes and inhibitions for this zesty song.

Title track of ‘Dhoom 2’ and ‘Krazy kiya re’ number brought a hot and sexy Aishwarya Rai to the fore.. Her ‘Krazy kiya re’ number was a rage amongst the youngsters and her songs like ‘Ishq Kamina’ and ‘Kajra Re’ are still remembered with intense fervour. Hence, one must say that even though it is Katrina who is making the nation drool and swoon in this wintry season, she is still a tad behind Aishwarya who has donned the item avatar on more than one occasion.

If sources are to be believed, Abhishek and Katrina have a line up of three new films in the near future. Guess they have moved on from Salman- Aishwarya episode for better.. Katrina has already signed ‘Dostana 2’ (Director: Tarun Mansukhani) which stars Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham. Meanwhile, famous director Rajkumar Santoshi (‘Andaaz Apna Apna’ and ‘Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’) has written a script and has roped in Katrina and Abhishek as lead protagonists. It would be a comic romance or a rom-com flick. The buzz is that Katrina and Bacchan junior are also slated to work together in Vipul Shah’s next. Now, what remains to be seen if Katrina can stir a genuine chemistry with Abhishek.

The chances of Katrina and Abhishek giving the movie devotees a hit are quite high. Even with all the fervour of Aishwarya, almost all the Aishwarya- Abhishek starrer films have proved to be washouts at the box- office. Be it their latest release in 2010 ‘Raavan’ or their earlier attempts when they were not a real life couple. Only ‘Guru’ is an exception. We sincerely desire that the new pair will be able to pull wider number of enthusiasts given the popularity of Katrina and the influence of Abhishek.

Will Salman Wait for Katrina till 2012

Katrina Kaif has revealed that she will marry in 2012, will her beau Salman Khan will wait till 2012. Katrina Kaif is 25 years old and Salman Khan is already crossed 40s. Katrina Kaif is younger by 20 years from Salman Khan.

Also in an remark on the sets of Dance reality show while promoting Veer movie, Salman Khan said that he promised to his father to get married in current year 2010.

So will Salman Khan will get married in 2010 as per his promise to his father or will wait till 2012.Katrina Kaif has also mentioned that she will stay in her husband home after having a traditional marriage.

Preference for traditional marriage gives good chances for Salman Khan as both Katrina and Salman are muslim.
